Beyond Service: The Impact of Loss on our Military Community

Unique aspects of military loss often include the circumstances of the death as well as the culture of the military and the supports available to military families. Join us for a workshop led by Audri Beugelsdijk, MS, Director of the Survivor Care Team at the Tragedy Assistance Program (TAPS) and Pam Zembiec, a Hospice Caring Good Grief Club Facilitator, to explore the nuances of military loss and learn about resources that can help. Pam and Audri will both share their personal stories of loss and Pam will share excerpts from her book about her late husband Major Douglas Zembiec, Selfless Beyond Service: A Story about the Husband, Son and Father Behind the Lion of Fallujah.

Hospice Caring’s Seasons of Caring Community Education Series is designed to develop community knowledge and
skills around end-of-life and grief related topics that can be applied to daily life. Our meaningful educational events and
discussions help build a caring and compassionate community. The series is chaired by Hospice Caring volunteer Robin
Levien, LCPC, and is provided free of charge. Contributions to Hospice Caring, Inc. are appreciated.
