Standards for Excellence

Hospice Caring, Inc. has been awarded the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations' Seal of Excellence for successfully completing the Standards for Excellence certification program.  Hospice Caring voluntarily submitted to a rigorous peer review examining its compliance with the Maryland Nonprofits Standards for Excellence:  An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector.

Standards for Excellence are based upon fundamental values such as honesty, integrity, fairness, respect, responsibility and accountability.  Hospice Caring's programs and services, management, fundraising and financial practices were examined in depth before the certification was awarded.  Hospice Caring is one of the first organizations to be certified under the Standards program that began in 1998.  There are over 12,000 nonprofits in the State of Maryland and fewer than 75 hold this seal of excellence.
